SALVADOR DALI PARTON PRINTS BY JULIA BEE, SAT 11/2 October 28 2013, 5 Comments
This Saturday night at the Infinity Cat Visitors Center there will be a show of photographic prints by Julia Bee. Fans of JEFF the Brotherhood, Apache Relay, Mumford and Sons, The Vaccines, and Old Crow Medicine Show will be able to view (and purchase) photos from last Saturday's epic night of rock. Julia Bee is a local photographer who's been shooting the Nashville's dirtiest, grittiest, gnarliest shows for years. At age seventeen she began shooting for Nashville's Dead and continued to expand reach into the photographic community. Shooting only traditional 35mm film, she develops and prints all of her work in her own darkroom, and will be opening Nashville's first community-based darkroom in the coming months at Fort Houston (with the help of friend and fellow photographer Bekah Cope). This weekend, armed only with a camera and ten rolls of film, she followed supergroup Salvador Dali Parton through their entire three day craze of writing, rehearsing, and performing. Salvador Dali Parton is Jake Orrall, Mike Harris, Winston Marshall, Justin Hayward-Young, and Gill Landry. The show is part of the monthly Wedgewood Houston Art Crawl, held the first Saturday of every month. The Visitor's Center is at 467 Hunphreys St. in Nashville, TN, and doors will be open from 5:30 to 9pm. See some of Julia's photo's HERE. Other's participating in the Art Crawl include Zeitgeist Gallery, Cheekwood (with a pop up gallery at 516 Hagan #102), Cleft Studios, Fort Houston, Ground Floor Gallery, Harvest Hands, SNAP (South Nashville Action People), United Record Pressing, and an after party at Track One. Come join us for a great night of art and music!
