SXSW RECAP March 17 2014, 0 Comments

Greetings from Post-SXSW Depression, Wrenne here reporting from Nap City, USA.

Over the past week I saw dozens of bands, took thousands of photos, got totally busted by Rolling Stone (see below), ate meat and got a fresh new pair of kicks (thanks Converse). Our very own Diarrhea Planet played 10 shows and guess what? I went to every single one of them and beat my PR. But that's a given. One of those shows included playing Tom Petty's "Refugee" with Melissa Etheridge. You know, just another day in the life of Diarrhea Planet.

Ya boy Jesse Baker from Exit/In threw the most bumpin showcase over at the Parish Underground on Friday that featured some of Nashville's best. Kicking the night off was No Regrets Coyote featuring Evan Bird. From there we danced with no shame to JP5, Bully, Richie and Diarrhea Planet. Thanks for the Nashville party Miley Cyrus-style, Jesse!

Some of our other beloved bands like Natural Child and Peach Kelli Pop did us proud as well. Singing along to "Nobody Wants to Party With Me" while the audience stared at me was a definite highlight. Another highlight was watching DP's Emmett Miller participate in a hot sauce eating competition. Stay tuned for more on that.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the shows or maybe just to use me for my free swag. Regardless, hope that everyone had a good time or at least got a free pin or sticker from me. And thank you to Diarrhea Planet & team for letting me follow them around for a week! Check my Flickr this week for all photo evidence.
