The fine folks at NASHVILLE'S DEAD announced Freakin Weekend VIII today, our most favorite weekend out of the whole dang year! It's a little bittersweet cuz this is gonna be the very last one. Can't believe it's been going on for eight years now, some of our favorite shows have been FW sets and some of our favorite friendships are once we've made at FW. Gonna be sad to see it go.
But the good news is Freakin Weekend's goin out with a bang! Our v own Diarrhea Planet, Daddy Issues, AND Music Band are playing, along with buddies PUJOL, Ranch Ghost, and more. Check out the announced line up HERE, and keep an eye on the FB event page HERE. After all, with nights at The End and Exit/In and day shows at Fort Houston, there's a loooottttt of bands yet to be announced.

2014 IS UPON US. And like many of you, we at Infinity Cat have some resolutions for this year, like using this blog more. So we're introducing the WEEK END ROUND UP.

Last night the Exit/In saw a show of force, faith and family as Infinity Cat took it's turn in the great line up of shows that has been 2013's Freakin' Weekend. An amazing night of music and love amongst friends. Our thanks to everyone who made it possible, the bands, the fans, and the bouncers, who let the rules fly and allowed for the crazy scene you see pictured as JEFF The Brotherhood closed the show. The stage and the audience became one and no one will forget it. Diarrhea Planet previewed their monster of a new album, and Cy Barkley and the Way Outsiders charged through their best set of rawk ever. We'll never get over this one folks. Thanks to all who came out and made it such a special night.

SIX FEET OF "LOOSE JEWELS" ON IT'S WAY TO YOU September 22 2011, 0 Comments

That's Jake Orrall standing next to tower of Loose Jewels boxed up and ready to go. And go they did, on Tuesday, so check your mail! And the reviews are in: "As far as I’m concerned, there’s exactly one thing that I want out of the long-awaited full-length by the local kings of party-punk guitarmageddon: a record that sounds like a Diarrhea Planet show. The muscle I pulled in my shoulder pumping my fist to “Your Head” in my car can pretty definitively answer that question for you. Loose Jewels is exactly what you would expect to hear on a Diarrhea Planet album. It’s 19 minutes and 15 seconds of loud-as-hell anthems to drinking beer and skating with your friends. There isn’t a single wasted second in any of these songs — they're all so dense with hooks that they could cut glass. Heretofore, even I thought introducing four guitars into a party-punk band seemed like overkill, but Loose Jewels makes a compelling argument for their existence." (Nashville Scene)

"Loose Jewels is a total ripper of an album. It’s an incredibly close representation of the band’s live show, so when you listen to the 11-song LP all the way through – you can feel the energy the boys bring when you see them in the flesh. That’s something most bands dream of accomplishing." (Nashville's Dead)

PUJOL "X FILE ON MAIN ST." AVAILABLE NOW! June 14 2011, 1 Comment

We'll start by letting Daniel Pujol tell you about his debut LP for Infinity Cat: “The X File On Main St. LP stylistically focuses on Nashville and draws from my work in MEEMAW and Saigon Baby/Wizardz. It is an aesthetic and conceptual assemblage of a lot of the recording and narrative ideas I’ve experimented with since 2007, but all at once. X File is a record for and about everything around in Nashville since I moved here in 2006. Ben Todd of Nashville’s Dead, Dillon “Angel Baby” Watson of D. Watusi, and Wez Traylor of Natural Child and MEEMAW play on it. Their science keeps me honest; the truth is way, way, out there.”

PUJOL fans can download the album on iTunes HERE. But due to popular demand, we're happy to also bring it to you as a handmade CD, lovingly shrinkwrapped by our crack team of interns.

BOB'S END OF THE YEAR ODDS, AND ENDS December 30 2010, 3 Comments

Heavy Cream's "Danny" ends up on a bunch of year-end top ten lists. Now they're in the studio recording and we can't wait to bring you new music. Heavy Cream like wearing those Converse sneaks, and it turns out Converse loves them just as much. Take a LOOK (and check out the sweeet photo taken by, ahem, Justine Orrall). JEFF The Brotherhood featured on Nylon TV HERE, laid-back and Southern style. They leave soon for Europe to support the release of "Heavy Days" over there (with four bonus tracks- you can pre-order it from Stolen Recordings HERE). And since it's almost 2011, it's almost time for "We Are The Champions". We've finished moving into our awesome new building and will post a few picks someday soon. We're right across the street from where we get our records pressed at United Record Pressing, and we like that a lot. Just heard the test pressing of the Third Man Records upcoming JEFF live 12", and it sounds amazing. The generous talented Jeremy Ferguson at Battletapes has kindly posted his live recordings from the Candice Burnside Cancer Benefit on June 4, 2010 via our friends at Nashville's Dead. Help yourself to live sets from Ben Steine's Money, So Jazzy, PUJOL, Natural Child, and JEFF The Brotherhood. Jake and Jamin just returned from a great tour of Australia/New Zealand (here's a typical stellar reviewfrom one of a few shows with Nashville's darling Those Darlins), and we'd love you to hear their set from the Merideth Supernatural Amphitheatre, with some 9000 fans cheering them on. it's posted right HERE at Fan Made Recordings. If you live in Nashville, treat yourself to Grimey's this week and buy all the vinyl you didn't get for Christmas.
2011 will bring LP's from Natural Child, PUJOL, Hell Beach, JEFF The Brotherhood and more. By the way, did you know the TN Titans play at LP Field? It cost us a lot for those naming rights, but we believe in the power of 12" vinyl. We believe in 7"s too, so there'll be lot's of those, including a Best Coast/JEFF split and many more surprises. 2010 was our best year ever and 2011 will be bigger and better! So on behalf of Holland, Jamin and Jake, our heartfelt thanks to all of you. xoxo Bob

Heavy Cream's much anticipated debut LP "Danny" goes on sale August 24th. But if you pre-order before Aug 20, you will get a very special lim-ed Tour DVD autographed by Jessica, Mimi, Melissa and Daniel. There are only 100 of these sweet DVD's so act fast!
“Heavy Cream play a set of youthful Stooges-meets-the-Runaways-style dirty proto-punk that recalls the grit of everything that made 1979 an awesome year” (Creative Loafing)
“Man, we will never get tired of these babies. I mean, do we really need to write a review of their show? Fine. It ruled. They rocked. So primal. We love them. Go see them. Blah blah blah blah blah.... Seriously, Heavy Cream, you are the apple of Nashville's eye.” (Nashville's Dead)
Nashville’s Heavy Cream plays aggressive, catchy punk anchored by an intense frontwoman who looks like Mia Farrow in Rosemary’s Baby, but wails like Glenn Danzig on Walk Among Us. It’s awesome. (Little Advances)
It's produced by JEFF The Brotherhood's Jake Orrall, with a track produced by Nashville's Dead's David Steine! You know you're going to buy it eventually. So get it right now so you'll be one of 100 out of 6 billion people on earth to own the super-sweet Heavy Cream Tour DVD Okay!

ICR CMJ WRAP-UP October 28 2009, 1 Comment

-6CMJ is finally over!! It was a pretty packed week for everyone here at Infinity Cat! JTB, Heavy Cream, Natural Child, Denney and the Jets and Daniel Pujol were all on tour, Holland, David and Cy flew up, Greg and Sean drove up, everyone else met up, and we had a total rage-fest at the Charleston in Williamsburg Brooklyn!! There was some sweet crowdsurfing, lots of beer drinking, picture taking, shreddhedding, partyzoning, bad smelling, dust kicking, amp diving, equipment destroying, and pizza eating. Also Sister played an awesome set to close out the night, and Shredders opened the night with some loud loud riffs!

Anyways, Heavy Cream played one more show in Brooklyn the next day with Screaming Females and JTB, Natural Child played with a bunch of bands at Don Pedros, Denney and Daniel went down to New Brunswick, and JEFF The Brotherhood played 7 more shows in New York before we all headed home. Actually, Daniel and Denney are still out, but thats another story.

Here's some pics that Holland took on her Blackberry, expect a detailed recap from the good people at Nashville's Dead SOON!!!

Also we would like to personally thank all the awesome people at Death By Audio for being fucking awesome. Thanks yall!

Next Big Nashville is here and our show is gonna be crazy. This show will be the most fun out of the whole festival, I promise. Nashville's Dead did a sweet write up about all the bands, if you haven't been to that site then you need to because it's onto all the raddest stuff in TN.
