Bio

From the fog, pop prevails. Members Emily Kempf, Eric McGrady and Jason Balla
formed Dehd in the Summer of 2 thousand 15. Kempf and Balla's vocals meet and
depart over wiggling guitar licks and the lazy rhythms of McGrady's stand-up drum
kit. Dizzy days and desert nights are the stuff dreams are made of, as are the
musical recordings Dehd have assembled.

Dehd has been seen in the basements and backrooms of the Chicago diy scene
and also on the stages of the Empty Bottle and Thalia Hall. The follow up to their
2016 self-titled album (via Maximum Pelt/Fire Talk), Fire of Love, will be out March
10th on pale pink tapes as part of the Infinity Cat Cassette Series, curated by Casey
Weissbuch.

Press Quotes

This local trio, cofronted by Jason Balla of Earring and Ne-Hi, released an
excellent self-titled cassette on Maximum Pelt over the summer, and I can't seem
to stop listening to it. It's dreamy, moody, beautiful postpunk, anchored by a rock-
solid and beyond-simplistic rhythm section, and the guitar work echoes the finest
early New Order. - Chicago Reader

DEHD layers atonal melodies, roaming rhythms, simplified percussion with
echoing ethereal verse into a fringe effort worth of a listen. - The COMP Magazine

It is as if Beat Happening invaded the bodies of Melbourne's Twerps. This is one of my new, favorite bands. - When You Motor Away
